Debre Berhan Selassie Church, meaning ‘Mount of Light of the Trinity,’ houses some of the finest religious art in Ethiopia. The church’s walls and ceiling are covered with beautiful paintings that have remained vibrant for centuries, protected by the church’s unique architecture.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Royal Enclosure & Fasilides Castle

Morning tour of the Royal Enclosure, exploring Fasilides Castle, Iyasu's Palace, Dawit's Hall, and the banquet hall of Emperor Bekaffa. Afternoon visit to Fasilides' Bath, where the annual Timkat (Epiphany) celebrations take place. Evening exploration of Gondar's local markets.

Day 2: Debre Berhan Selassie & Departure

Visit the magnificent Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its ceiling decorated with winged angel faces and beautiful murals depicting biblical scenes. Optional visit to Qusquam Church and monastery. Time for shopping local crafts before departure.
